They argued that there was the need for other parts of Nigeria to consider the call for the North Central to produce Nigeria's next president in the interest of fairness and equity.
In the communiqué, jointly signed by Bishop David Usman and Imam Aliyu Rabiu Lawal, the clerics said they believe in the ability of Moses Ayom to build on the foundation laid by President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to move Nigeria forward.
In another related report, David Umahi, the governor of Ebonyi state, has dissociated himself from campaign posters with an inscription that he wants to run for president in the next general elections in 2023.

The posters have reportedly flooded various social media platforms and strategic locations across the country.
Reacting via a statement by his media aide, Francis Nwaze, Governor Umahi noted that the gesture may be in good faith. He, however, said he would only heed the call to run for president if he is divinely inspired.
Similarly, presidential campaign posters of former Ogun state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, have surfaced in the southwest state.
The poster which reads “Your voice, your choice SIA (meaning Senator Ibikunle Amosun) for President,” was sighted at the popular NNPC bridge along presidential boulevard way, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.
It was gathered that some vehicles in the metropolis were also sighted to have been branded with a similar campaign.
