Odion Ighalo has garnered over 1 million followers on Instagram. The Lagos-born striker is often seen flaunting his lifestyle and philanthropy on this account. Ighalo made a shocking return to the Super Eagles team after he was recalled by Gernot Rohr two years into international retirement. It is left to see if Ighalo will be part of the squad under the new coach of the national team.
4. Kenneth Omeruo – 998,000 followers
Among all the players on the national team, Kenneth Omeruo is friends with most celebrities in Nigeria. That has contributed to his massive social media following on Instagram. 5. Kelechi Iheanancho – 683,000 followers
Seniorman Kelechi Iheanancho is very popular among Nigerians on social media. He is often seen in comical videos with his Leicester City teammate Ndidi. His shenanigans with Ndidi on social media have increased his followers to 683,000 on Instagram. The lethal frontman has had a mixed start to the season at his club this season. However, he will be hoping to play a key role for the Super Eagles at the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
6. Wilfred Ndidi – 646,000 followers
The underrated midfielder regularly posts on his Instagram account and currently has 646,000 followers. Ndidi usually shares videos from the dressing room, which has contributed to his following. He is also quite popular in Nigeria, and frequently posts good performances for his club. The tough-tackling defensive midfielder has been reportedly sought after by numerous clubs in Europe, including Manchester United and Real Madrid.
7. Victor Osimhen – 626,000 followers
The 22-year-old striker is a fan favorite by both Nigerians and the people of Naples. Victor Osimhen has racked up 626,000 followers on Instagram.
